"My goal as an artist is to tell emotionally deep and emotionally true stories that highlight the human experience."
Growing up in and around Chicago, Il. There was always a stigma about acting. In My peers and I eyes you had to look or be a certain way to even consider “the arts” as a viable career. None of us fit that build and with no formal introduction to the theater we just went about our business. But ever since I was a child I’ve always had a love for film; my grandmother made sure I studied the greats. Denzel Washington, Sidney Poitier, and Clark Gable (who I’m named after) had a large influence on me growing up. Finally in my adult years my natural curiosity took over.
I sought out to demystify what it truly meant to be an actor. Along this journey I’ve trained with some of the premier names in the Chicago Industry, been a part of small budget indie/student films, and even got a taste of Chicago's vintage storefront theater scene.
The past few years have been a wild ride but in the process I’ve come to realize that the work we do is an exercise of looking inward and unlocking the truth. Then sharing that truth with the world through the given circumstances of a scene. This truly is a liberating experience and I’ve benefited greatly from it.
My goal as an artist is to tell emotionally deep and emotionally true stories that highlight the human experience. Then going back to communities like mine and sharing those liberating experiences; so the generations under me have something to aspire towards that isn’t completely foreign to them.
